If you share visuals through photos, then it all comes together and it’s basically takes away half of the puzzle. It can become very frustrating, but the payoff is big when you hear that acoustic guitar announcing you’ve beaten the puzzle. On the other, how can she describe the elongated star-like triangle as a ‘sun’ while the sun is clearly the big circle symbol surrounded by other tiny circles?! Because the sun is a star, of course… On one hand, pronouncing some of the made-up words or describing highly abstract paintings can be funny. This is where the fun and frustration start. It makes both players completely engaged in the puzzles. This is one of the best things about the game. Why? Because, ironically, We Were Here Together actually separates you and your friend, often outside of each other’s sight. In We Were Here Together, you have to play together and each of you needs to figure out their own section of the puzzle. However, we imagine if Escape Room 3 does happen, the third movie will pick up from the theatrical version, rather than this alternate ending. This alternate cut at least expands the mythology of Minos and offers an interesting tease for the future. The twist that somebody was 'alive all along' is an overdone one in horror, and it really felt like the theatrical version didn't move things along and ended in exactly the same place.

It's a very Saw-esque finale and leaves the Escape Room series in a very different place, even if we assume that in this version, Zoey and Ben still eventually find themselves trapped on a plane.īy removing the surprise return of Amanda, it's arguably a more grounded version of the movie and certainly sounds stronger as a result. Spoilers are ahead for both versions of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, so be warned if you haven't seen the movie yet. The alternate version is totally different to the one released in cinemas, with a brand-new ending and one major character cut from it completely. That's not the case with Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. However, you generally feel quite safe that you're not missing much if you don't watch an alternate cut of a movie. There are exceptions, of course, such as Peter Jackson's masterful extended editions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the various versions of Blade Runner. Quite often when there's an extended cut of a movie, it doesn't really change much and just adds a few scenes here and there or extends some other scenes. The version that's available to watch on Sky is the extended/director's cut of the horror sequel. Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is now available to watch on Sky Cinema in the UK, but if you saw it at the cinema, you might be surprised by what you see.
